Hope you don't mind me butting in from Kansas; I was born in Lee County and can't get back there presently to look things up in person.
I'd appreciate any "look-up" helps you could give me. I'm kind of new to the family search routine and keep getting stymied by the need to see "original" documents.
Particularly, I'm after the family names: Burgan/Burgin, Cooper, Parsons, and Wheeler. Ida Mae Burgan (nee Wheeler) was my paternal grandmother and her husband was Dennis Burgan. Thomas Cooper was my maternal grandfather (wife named, Alice-no records I've found yet; her maiden name was Parsons). Think my great grandfather on one side might have been George Washington Wheeler, but I'm not sure of the link. My great grandmother (his wife) was a full blood (Cherokee?) and she had six first names---started with Amanda Pilana (spelling?) Annie (something) Queen Victoria Texas (then her last name, Wheeler).
Although I know when Grandma Burgan died and Grandpa Cooper too, I've kind of run out of steam without having access to local resources. Also, I can't search any tribal records without my Great Grandma Wheeler's maiden name.
I know this is a tall order, but please know that any kind of helps or hints that you can give me whatsoever, will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks from the heart,
Audrey Burgan Murphy
