Hi Bonnie,

Please let me know if the name Phaniry (also have records where it is spelled Chniry, Phniry, Venira, Thaniry) More/Moore comes up in your research. I too suspect that Phaniry may be a son of Samuel Moore, by his first wife. Phaniry was born in either Hawkins Co. TN or Lee Co. VA in about 1815. He is enumerated as the head of the household, next to the household of Samuel Moore in the 1840 Lee County VA. census. "Phniry/Chniry" More is at the bottom of the page, then Samuel at the top of the next. I also somehow suspect that Phaniry may have Jessee More/Moore as a brother, as they are enumerated next to each other on the 1850 Scott Co. VA census (Phaniry is shown spelled as "Venira" Moore), both listed as born in TN & both about the same age. Quite a few people believe that Samuel is Jessee's father. I have gut instinct more than anything else. This has by far been my most elusive brickwall. Please let me know if you ever come across anything relating to Samuel's unknown/lost sons.
