Spencer GEORGE (a neighbor of John MEREDITH who lived near Kilmanock) died "suddenly" shortly before Dec. 6, 1832. GEORGE was married to a daughter of Capt. LAWSON.

There was a cholera outbreak in Lancaster County in 1832 and MEREDITH speculated they may have died of cholera.

Anne Steptoe (nee BRENT), widow of John MEREDITH, died in early February 1835 leaving a young son William MEREDITH and stepchildren Margaret and Thomas MEREDITH.

The above information was found in Meredith family letters contained in the Thomas Meredith Papers at the Maryland Historical Society.
