Cross-posted from George Family forum...

In researching my George family line, I have come to a dead end at the William George of the subject line. His pension file, R.14395, contains a document stating that William died about 1800 leaving two sons, Jesse and Michael W. as his heirs. Michael W. George is my fourth-great-grandfather.

I've tracked Jesse (b 1796) and Michael (b 1800) and their children through Lancaster county marriage, census and death records. Jesse married Judith Lunsford 8 Feb 1822. Michael W. married first Judith Shelton on 15 Jan 1822. He was married subsequestly to Elizabeth Jefferson (1827), Judith D George (1836) and Ann S Gaines (1842). On Michael's death record from June 1858, it lists his father as William George, his mother as Sallie (possibly Sarah Wilder?)with his brother Jesse as the informant.

With so many William Georges residing in Lancaster Co during this period, I haven't been able to determine precisely where mine fits among the various family lines. Has anyone else come across this line in their Lancaster Co VA research?
