My husband's grt. grandmother was the daughter of Uriah Lefter and Barbary (Cope) Lefter.I just learned this information today. I had known for some time that Hannah(Lefter) Myers had told an 1860 Census enumerator in MO. that her father was born in VA . Until today I didn't know his name . I don't know how many children they did have , but there was at least one sister older than our Hannah. Hannah had been born Feb. 22, 1817 in Mason county KY and if the older sister were approx. 2 yrs older she'd have been born in 1815.She married a Henry Bishop in KY
Since most men married by the age of 21-25 I had calculated that Uriah must have been born about 1780-1790. Can anyone offer me any help with this ?? Please e-mail me Neomi Myers at neemy735@msn.com
