I have been trying to find the family of Joseph Carter b about 1806 maybe Amherst Co Va.He married Belsora Elizabeth
(Sally-Sarah-Bell Sarah) Lavender 1-14-1833 in Amherst Co Va.I have been unable to locate any family for him or his wife.One or both of them have Native American heritage. I just got an email that said the Carter's from Amherst came from Lancaster and the were Monacan Indians.It's the only clue I have.I have posted everywhere and no one knows either one of them.Belsora is listed as Sally on the marriage bond.The marriage register I need to see has been off the shelf in Amherst for four years.It probably has their parents listed.The surety on the marriage bond was Allen Lavender.He was not Belsora's father.

Elizabeth married Robert Fulwiler in Botetourt Co. Va
William H married Nannie Clements Botetourt Co Va
Mary Jane married Richard Stinnett Jr Botetourt Co Va
Chastin (Tina) never married.The Stinnett's and Clements go back to Amherst Co also.
They were in Botetourt county in 1850.1860 they were in Rockbridge Co.In 1870 Belsora was back in Botetourt Co living with Tina.I don't know when Joseph died.Just that it was between 1860-1869.
I can't find Belsora after 1880.
I sure hope somebody knows Joseph.
