Ginny,
No, these counties are not in the same place, at least not Lancaster, which is an old county formed in 1651 from Northumberland. It is in the tidewater area. Prince William was formed from the northern part of Stafford in 1731 and Fauquier was formed from the western part of PWC in 1759. Your Whites could have been in PWC before FC was formed rather than moving into FC.
