David Davidson/Davison
Posted by: Bill Davidson (ID *****1886) Date: July 02, 2004 at 10:29:13

David Davidson was declared a protestant and was naturalized by the govenor of VA on 20 April 1686 in James City County, VA. He later had land that had belonged to Edward and Thomas Cowles, and he had a son also named David Davi(d)son. The elder David Davidson was listed as being from Holland. Does anyone have any information on the elder David Davidson? I believe that he was an ancestor of the family that appears in Goochland County on the 1746 tithe list (Edward, David and William)and that are later in Cumberland County, VA and then Buckingham County, VA. Note: There was also POSSIBLE relatives in Charles City County, VA (a David and a Philemon) and Norfolk County, VA (an Edward) in the 1700s. Thanks!
