Ria, Actually if you look at the 1786 personal tax records
you will see William Walker Jr owned and paid the tax on the land that was to become Warrenton and William Walker Sr is the one who sold the land to the navy to become the naval shipyard now known as the brickyard or shipyard creek.
The land was bought from the estate of William Walker Jr.
John Walker was the brother of William Walker Jr.
In 1840 half of Warrenton was given to George Michael Walker Sr (son of William Walker Jr and Judith B.I. Shields) when he married Rebecca Allen Warren.
