I just found your message inquiring about John Brewer II who married Sarah Lanier. This is of particular interest to me because it has a bearing on my family line.

I'm responding because I have discovered a conflict in your information at information posted by another researcher on RootsWeb's WorldConnect website. In truth, I don't know which information is correct, and I'm hoping someone can clarify--perhaps by explaining the research that led to the two conclusions. Let me explain.

In you message, you write about a John Brewer II who was born about 1686 and died 7 December 1743. You message indicates he married Sarah Lanier.

On the RootsWeb WorldConnect Project site, Dianne Brewer indicates that it was George G. Brewer who married Sarah Lanier. Dianne lists the exact same birth year and DOD you have indicated for John, but as I say, lists George as the husband. As you can imagine, this has left me very confused. I am a direct descendant of one of these gentlemen. Now I'm not sure which.

Dianne's records are listed under "The Ancestors of Jess H. Brewer & Christine Anderson" on the RootsWeb site. Her e-mail is listed as Of course, it is totally up to you, but you might want to compare notes.

At the risk of being a total pest Vicki, I am wondering if you can share where you got your information about John with me. Also, if you do happen to correspond with Dianne, I would love to know the outcome.

Thanks for all the work you've put into this.

R.D. Brewer
