I have a Wilson/Willson family proved back to WILLIAM WILLSON who showed up in eastern NC, old undivided Chowan with a new wife named REBECCA BRASWELL in 1720. He d. 1745 in Northampton, NC.

The name SHADE or SHADRACK was used often as a first or a middle name, in this family, and I know the Brasswells were from Isle of Wight so that is where I am looking for William Wilson's family.

As a sidelight; In the entire country today there are only about 6 or 7 Shade Wilsons two are from our family and 2 from a family with roots in nearby Martin and Pitt Co.

Today, these 2 sets of fathers and sons both live in the same Va city. I sure would like not only to find William Wilsons parents, but would like to find a connection to the other set of Shade Wilsons in VA.

Can you tell me what year Shady Wilson was building in Isle of Wight?

Sons of William and Rebecca Braswell were:

James and John Wilson disappeared from Northampton, NC in 1741 and 1746 respectively. Nothing further is known.

Much is known about the descendents of Isaac and Elisha Moore Wilson, (our line)

The name Shade or Shadrack is a marker for this family.
