I have the VA Tax Records book and I found:

James Daughtie, Lewis Daughtree, William Daughtrie all listed in the 1704 Quit Rent Rolls for Nansemond Co. A John Daughty was listed in the 1704 Quit Rent Rolls for Essex Co VA.

Book 17th century IOW by Boddie

John Thomas, son of John Thomas, of Nansemond county deeded, on April 3, 1751, to John Daughtrey, son of William Daughtrey of IOW 105 acres in Queen's Grave Swamp, said land being part of a patent of 1650 acres to Richard Thomas, Jonathan Robinson and John Saunders in 1681, and said Richard Thomas devised 550 acres of this land to his son John Thomas and his three daughters, Phoebe, Elizabeth and Sarah, by his last will April 8, 1687, and by the death of the aforesaid John Thomas to his son John Thomas.
