Book: Historical Notes on IOW:
Josiah, Micajah, Richard and
Bidgood's Church established in 1817 (now Bethany United Methodist Church on Bethany Church Road near the site of Wrenn's Mill. Trustees were Josiah and Micajah Bidgood.

Book: Smithfield
Capt. Richard Bidgood was in the war of 1812, 29th Reg of VA volunteers.

Deed book 1750-1782:
Benjamin, John, Hester, Jane, Richard, Solomon, Thomas, William.
1771 deed states: Wm. Bidgood and wife Jane and Sarah Ingram to Solomon Bidgood and Wm. Bidgood the younger, sons of Wm. and wife Jane and grandsons of Sarah Ingram, wife of Jennings Ingram decd. Sarah and Jennings Ingram had dau Catherine who married Thomas Wrenn and died without issue. Land had then descended to her sister Jane Bidgood.
