Also found on a Family tree maker site, Desc. of William Boddie. Wm Boddie (John, Thomas, John Thomas, Wm) was b. 1633 in Ingatestone, Exxex, Eng. and died 25 Feb 1717 in IOW VA. He married Anne and she died 1683 in IOW VA. He married Elizabeth abt 1684 and she died abt. 1699 IOW VA. He married Mary Hunt abt 1700 dau of Wm. Hunt. She died unk. Wm Boddie was the first Boddie to emigrate to America. Owned 8,000 acres of land in IOW some of which he purchased and some for transporting persons to VA. Wm became a Quaker in 1672. He was a dealer in slaves. Will probated Feb 25, 1717 IOW VA. Wm and Anne issue: Mary boddie. Wm and Elizabeth issue:Elizabeth Boddie married Anthony Matthews, and John Boddie b. abt. 1685 IOW VA d. Mar 1720. Ria
