Arthur Skynner sells to Thomas Pitt the plantation where Arthur skinner lives, being 1/2 of 500 acres formerly in tenure of THOMAS BUTLER and now of Arthur Skynner and Anthony Holladay, 250 acres running from out of New Town Haven River and 125 acres granted by John Neville and wife Elizabeth to Arthur Skynner. 8 Feb 1671. David Gour, John Tryssel, Walter Turner, Jonas Chamberling.
Will of Anthony Barham of Mulberry Island, VA and at present residing in England; dated 6 Sept. 1641.......mentions "gossip William Butler" Edward Major and William Butler, were his execs in VA. "My said gossip William Butler", mentioned in his will, also patented 700 acres in Surry Aug 29, 1643 "upon the south side of the James River at the head of Lawne's Creek" adjacent to Capt. William Pierce for the transportation of himself and family.
