Unfortunately we have not been able to trace my husband's line but to his grandfather David "Dave" Autry of Wake Co., NC. We know Dave's father was William Autry but that's just about it. He was not raised by his parents. I've not put all I have into it b/c I am too busy with my own along with LIFE. However, I did just borrow a book through inter-library loan on the descendants of Cornelius Autry. The book is immense and could have his whole family in it and I wouldn't know it.

I do know there was an Autry from Autryville NC that fought at the Alamo. Until recently there was an outdoor drama in his honor performed for a few weeks each year in Autryville.

Thanks for writing and good luck with your search.
