I suppose you have seen Larry Bowers site of the lines of Giles Bowers. I have TN Bowers on my husband's side but I do not know any Bowers researchers that can answer your question. It has been said he was born in Europe and not the U.S.

The only Bowers I have in the deed book is a William in 1735 selling land to an Edward Morgan...100 acres on the south side of Nottoway River and the north side of Three Creeks. Wit: Lewis Brantley, Wm. Kendrick, Martha Westbrook.

The next month in 1735 a George Green and wife Ann of Newport Parish sell to Wm Noyal of same...a water grist mill known as "Greens Mill" with 2 acres of land. Wit: Robert Cannon, Robert Richards and Thomas Whitley. There are several of the Green name in the area at this time.
