I checked several of my books on IOW. I think the Benjamin Drew you mentioned died 1856 in IOW. He may have been a son of William who was a son of Dolphin. He lived in the town of Smithfield, IOW (1810 to 1833) and was a native of Southampton Co VA. He was a merchant and owned several vessels. He came to Smithfield in 1807 and in 1810 he and wife Mary deeded land to establish a Methodist church. In 1822 he was forced to sell his real estate including his home, five sailing vessels and horses, carriages, and several slaves. He served as sherrif in 1842. He died at age 89. This Benjamin married Polly Boykin and had three daughters. He remarried Wilmouth Vellines and had one more daughter.

Ria
