Hi Ria,

I'm afraid this is going to sound very amateur. I have a Miss Katharine Hearn, daughter of Alfred Hearn both of the Isle of Wight, UK. Miss Hearn died in 1932. She is not family to me, I'm actually researching a textile she at one time owned (a quilt). The quilt looks to me to have American design influences, so I was wondering if she had an American emigrant family connection. Looking for Hearns in Isle of Wight County Virginia was just a kind of starting guess. In the 1871 Census the family were Alfred and Isabella Hearn, parents, and children Isabella, Katharine, Alfred and Mary.

I am also waiting for responses from UK genealogy sites.
Sally
