Isle of Wight Co, VA
Joseph W. Spivey- son of Jacob and Elizabeth (Crumpler) Spivey, was born on
Christmas Day, 1859, near Windsor, Isle of Wight county. His ancestors- both
paternal and maternal- came from England, and settled first in Southampton
County. Allen Spivey, his great-grandfather, served as a private in the war of
1812. Joseph W. Spivey follows farming as his occupation, his farm lying two
miles north of Windsor, Isle of Wight Co, VA
