I am desperately searching information on my GGGG grandparents. I have the following information that is tentative until I prove it correct
John Carter b abt 1780
m. Nancy Philpott b abt 1786 (daughter of Samuel Philpott and Mary Ann Hannah) they were married in Henry Co Va
5 Oct 1812
may have had the following children
John P (we think Philpott) Carter b abt 1821 VA
m. Mary Ann Hall in Roane Co TN 20 Dec 1844
Samuel W Carter b abt 1814 Va
m. Margaret Unknown
John and John P and Samuel W show up on an 1850 census in Yell Co Arkansas living next to each other. I assume John was widowed and followed his sons to Arkansas, he was a Hatter on that census. All of them were stated as Hatters at one point or the other on a census.
I don't know of any other siblings of John P and Samuel W. We have never had any information on John Carter who married Nancy Philpott, this is why we are desperately searching! Thank you for your help!
