Seeking information on Wm. Scott and Wm. Griffin in 1787 when Wm. Scott was the tithe of Wm. Griffin in Henry Co. Does anyone have evidence to the effect that these men were originally from Orange Co., VA, via Patrick Co., VA, and possibly Surry Co., NC? A Wm. Scott and a Wm. Griffin inherited from the estate of Wm. Scott who d. 1789 Orange Co., VA. I believe the 1787 Wm. Scott of Henry Co. is the Wm. Scott, b. ca. 1755 who m. a dau. of Thomas Ayers who d. 1816 Patrick Co., VA.
