No, the courthouse has never burned and all records are intact as far as I know, though some are now in Richmond (check the Library of VA website for a definitive listing).
Originally, Henry included all of present-day Patrick Co and some of Franklin Co. Franklin was created in 1785 and Patrick in 1791. County boundaries have not been changed since then.
