Thank you Tom. I'll email Carolyn.

Tom what "book" are you referring to?

You wrote: "I do have a Samuel L. Perrin who died in 1863."

We have Samuel Perrin in the database and he is on the Monument. The question is the monument has a S. Perrin, Other Infantry that does not indicate died/KIA and an S. Perrin, Other Artillery that died.

Samuel L. Perrin was in the 25th B'n. Inf., Co. E, City Battalion and he died of "consumption" at Chaffin's Bluff. Since the City Battalion was infantry but manned the guns at Chaffin's Bluff could he be listed twice on the monument?

It's been tough working with initials so any ID's you can make will be very helpful.

Thank you,
Gail
