Audrey: I am not sure your Bartlett Smith and mine are the same person - My records for him show him born prior to 1766 and death bef Jun 1839 - I have found him on the 1820 Patrick county census, but not the 1810 = he shows up in Patrick County and no one has discovered where he came from or his wife's name - his children: Burwell abt 1780, Rebecca bef 1781, Nancy 1783, Pensey Jenny abt 1705, George abt 1789, Elizabeth abt 1800 and Polly unk.The earliest deed on record for him in Patrick county is 10 Nov 1806 to Joseph Smith. Check your records and let me know if you think they are related
