Nathaniel Shrewsbury was born in 1739 in Hanover Co. VA. He died in 1824 in Wayne Co. KY. He was the son of Ruel Shrewsbury and Elizabeth Poindexter. He married Mary Ellis who as born in 1743 in Hanover Co. VA. abt. 1755. They had the following children:

1) Mary (Polly) Shrewsbury b. 1759, m. Valentine Mattox.
2) Mildred Shrewsbury, b. about 1761, Bedford Co. VA.
3) Allen Shrewsbury, b. abt. 1757, Bedford Co. VA.
4) Ruel Shrewsbury, b. abt. 1759, Bedford Co. VA.
5) Abel Shrewsbury, b. abt. 1769, Bedford Co. VA.
6) Benjamin Shrewsbury, b. abt. 1769, Bedford Co. VA.
7) Nancy Shrewsbury, b. abt. 1767, Bedford Co. VA.
8) Drury Shrewsbury, b. abt. 1767, Bedford Co. VA.
9) Nathaniel Shrewsbury, b. abt. 1773, Bedford Co. VA.
10) Sally Shrewsbury, b. abt. 1781, Culpepper Co. VA.
