Hello Hanover Researchers,
I am looking for Christopher Shields' brothers and parents. He was born 11 march 1737 in England, and died about 1801 or 1802 in Louisa County, Virginia.(Source from William Chapman Shields 1860 "Shields and Stewart Families")
Christopher owned property adjacent to Issac Winston, William Winston, and Larkin Luck/Tarleton Luck(Virginia Land Records page 129). He appears in a petition in 1790 concerning a courthouse in Louisa County(Virginia Genealogical Society Quarterly) . Also in the William and Mary Quarterly he made a cow transaction with Jesse Anthony. He also may have served with Col.Gibson during the Revolution(from DAR 42729 VOl 43).
Christopher Shields and Mary Allison have one son George Allison Shields born 19 Nov., 1776.
Christopher married a Miss Kennedy after Mary Allison died, and they had the following children: Nathan, William, Elizabeth, and Thomas.
Thank You
Karin Cahoon
