Davis Family Hanover County

I am researching the family of my gggrandfather, John Egbert Davis and his wife Nancy Elizabeth (nee unknown). They migrated from a Virginia County to Madison County, Tennessee in 1837.Their Children: Charles W. Davis b.1831;Richard Hardin Davis (my line) b.15 Dec., 1833;Amanda J. Davis b 1835; Sarah Thomas Davis b 1836; children born in Tennessee: Nathaniel L. b 1838, LaFayette b 1840, Nancy Susan b 1842.
Review of tax rolls 1799-1800 reveal in Hanover Counry: Charles Davis, Richard Davis, Hardin Davis,Thomas Davis and Nathaniel Davis. Adults in 1800 would fit the time frame to be parent/uncles of John Egbert Davis and account for the naming of John Egbert's children.
This is a long shot but please compare names and migration data to your data. Any help is most appreciated.
