Removal of non-patriots, Halifax county 1776

At a court held in Halifax County- present,Nathaniel Terry, James Baker, Walter Coles, Isaac Coles, John Coleman, Elijah Hunt, John Arrell Tunstall and William Terry--" for the purpose of examing several natives of North Britain, subjects of king George the third, residing within the county" The court found' Donald McNichol appeared and on considering the disposition and conduct of the said McNicho, the justices are of the opinion that he ought to depart as directed the said resolution" The court also found the following Scotchmen the same- James Steven, John Calder, Hector McNeil, John Smith, Walter Robertson, Thomas Hope amd James Calland
