Help me make sense of who these people are.

Nancy Lax (Lack/s) 1830
mother: Elizabeth Lax Halifax VA (Lacks)
father possible a William Lack
William's mother Obedience Halifax VA 1765 (Obediance)
Her father was William C Lax 1728 married to a Sussanah???

Maybe

I found in Iowa on 1870 Census: Nancy Lax and her husband and 5 children, plus her brother William with his wife (Amanda) and 2 children, plus Elizabeth (mother), plus Nancy's sister Obedience.

I can find no birth records on Nancy. About 1830. Nancy says born in TN Her husband is Daniel Bayless Duncan.

Thanks for any and all assistance
