If you are near a "Family History Library" Church of Latter Day Saints, they have a microfilm titled "Halifax County Marriage Records". the records are from 1700s to at least 1940s. The FHL will order the film for you from Utah and you will be able to view it at their center only. These records are hugh and it took me almost a month to cover the whole thing. I had to keep going back. If you can't finish in the month alloted, you can pay an extra fee to keep it their for anoyher month. The initial fee is $3.75.
The librarians there will help you find the film number. The records list names of bride and groom, their parents, minister, and also race. It also list the county they are from if not from Halifax. Hope this helps and have fun.
