Just yesterday I was at the library poring over a book entitled, Halifax Co., VA Marriage Bonds 1753-1854.

I jotted down several pages of info because the marriages listed the Groom, the Bride, the date, and the bondsman.

I will share with you what I took note of.

Rebecca Crews m. Armistead Younger
18 May 1836
John Crews, father was the bondsman.

Elizabeth Crews m. John Lax
27 Dec 1819
John Crews, father was the bondsman

Rebecca Crews m. Benjamin Lax
10 Dec 1813
Ephraim Crews, Bondsman
(This did not state he was the father,
but other records of this marriage I have do state Ephraim as the father of this Rebecca).

Mary B. Crews m. John Richardson
6 July 1839
Ephraim Crews, Bondsman
(I would add same note as above)

Unfortunately, I did not document where on the internet I found the following information, but it may help give you some direction.

Ephraim Crews was married to Rachel McHaney.
Their children were:

Rebecca Crews
Matthew John Crews
Joseph McHaney Crews
Ephraim Crews, Jr.
Patsy Crews
Sally Crews
Rachel Crews

Birth order not known by me and neither can I verify this as fact. My specific interest was in Rebecca Crews who married Benjamin Lax.

Perhaps you have already found all this, so if it is in any way repetitious, please forgive.

I am trying to sort through ALL these families in Halifax and find who belongs to who.
