I am familiar with the Wilkins Pond you referred to in your post. The pond was a millpond which was included on a track of 69 Ĺ acres purchased, one half interest at a time, by William J. Wilkins in 1880 and 1882 from Abner H. Richardson. The mill was listed by name, Carmel Mills, in the deed. It passed to Williamís son(s) at his death, and I believe the land is still owned by his 2nd great grandchildren, although I think the mill is gone, and the pond has been drained. It was located on Lawson Creek.
I have not researched how the property passed to Abner Richardson. I have done a limited amount of research on the Richardson family. Do you have any information on him?
