As a direct descendant of Nancy Thomas Powell, I would be interested to know where info of a marriage to a James Carter was found. Nancy and Richard H. Carter were married on Feb. 12, 1832 - can be verified in Marriage Bk. 1, p. 140 at the Halifax Co. Courthouse, and in family Bible records. (They were first cousins.)
They had a son James who married America Arrington.
James and America had a son Robert Lee who married Jessie Walker. This is as far as our family Bible record extends. This was put together many years ago by a granddaughter of Nancy and Richard H.
I haven't tried to verify James's or Robert's marriages in Couny Marriage Books.
Thanks for all your work. Nancy
