Arvilla,

Our family used the same names as your family. Family oral tradition says that one of them married a Hilton girl and took her family name. That is what has made our research so tough. They also occupied the same locations too. Our Peter Hilton b. 1752 that moves down into McMinn Co TN and then on to Carroll Co. GA says that he joined the Revolutionary war at Surry. Co NC. His claim was denied but he left some valuable information.

His brother Abraham b. 1743 joind from Henrico then went to NC and GA. Have you ran across any of our bunch in your research? Our group was at Rowan and then as it changed and developed it became Burke Co.NC.

Any help you or the other Hilton researchers can give us will be appreciated.

Mike
