He was born in 1812, a son of William and Betsy. He married Mary "Polly" Hudson. He is not the same person as your John Salmon, but maybe he is a nephew?? I have also hit a blank wall. Have you tried Goochland County. There are Salmon's there. There is also a connection with Kentucky. My gr-grandfather lived for a while in Kentucky and my grandfather was born there. The family returned to Halifax County. I cannot find my John's marriage. He lived for a while in Charlotte County. Two of his children were born there. He died in Halifax County near the little town of Mount Laurel. That property belongs to the Powell family and is now for sale. There are some graves on the property but none are marked.
