Northern and southern parts of the county for tax lists
Posted by: Walter V. Turner (ID *****9679) Date: July 02, 2008 at 01:43:32

Beginning in 1787, the tax lists for Halifax County were divided into northern and southern parts.
The division remained pretty stable over the years because the same names keep being shown on the same list.
Does anyone know approximately where the division was? Does a map exist?
