if someone knows more about these on the halifax co, va forum, i would appreciate hearing from you.

can someone identify this richard brown of brunswick/ halifax cos, va who was involved with andrew wade and tell me more about him, his family and ancestry.

as indicated, there is this brunswick co, va deed wherein richard brown and william harris witnessed the deed wherein william irby sold land to andrew wade.

i believe this was my william harris/ judith hudson, who with richard brown witnessed this deed re william irby to andrew wade.

Indenture made 3 December 1745 between William Irby of
Brunswick County and Andrew Wade of Goochland County, 60, 500a,
250a of the said Land being granted to William Gent by Patent
lying on North side of Dan River on both sides of the Horsford
Creek; other 242a being granted to Peter Mitchell by Patent.
Signed William Irby. Witnesses: Wm. Harris, Richard Brown.
Court March 6, 1745, Indenture acknowledged by William Irby.
Deed Book 3, Page 162.


as indicated, richard brown also witnessed andrew wade's 1766 halifax co, va will:

from THE HISTORY OF HALIFAX CO, On page 342:
"1766, January 14--Will of Andrew Wade.
'To my grandson, Benjamin Wade, son of John Wade, &c.; son, Henry; son, Benjamin; granddaughter, Isbell Wade (daughter of Benj. Wade); son, Andrew;
son, Joseph; son, William. To William, a tract of land on Blue Stone which
I purchased of my son-in-law, William Robinson, 245 acres; he, the said William Wade, paying balance of money due for same. I also give him six negroes, my riding horse and saddle, and one feather bed and furniture, on
condition that he marry Miss Dorothy Brooks, whom he is now addressing for
that purpose; but in case he does not marry the said Miss Dorothy Brooks,
then the negroes to be divided among the other children. To my son-in-law,
William Robinson, fifty pounds.
