Looking for death dates and place of burial (or anything else of interest) for the following:

John M. Hill (Family sources say M is for Marion) Born about 1838 probably in Sussex Co. to John A. Hill and Mary A. Rawlings. Served in Co. A 41St Va. Infantry - Mahones's Brigade in the Civil War. Wounded at 2nd Manassas 08-30-1862. Leg fractured and shortened by gunshot. Carried the bullet for the rest of his life. Received pension under Act of 1888 in 1899. He is in 1900 Greensville Co. census with daughter Ida Saunders and her husband Willie and their children.

Married Frances Ann Brantley 01-20-1870 in Greensville Co. She was a daughter of William B. Brantley and Anne E. Rawlings. She was born about 1848 probably in Southampton Co. From census records, she died sometime between 1880 and 1900.

We descend thru their daughter, Martha (Mattie) Rebecca Hill who married Robert Edward Elmore of Brunswick Co. in 1898. This couple is buried in Petersburg.

Mike Lee
Lynchburg, Va.
