We, ( the family ) have documentation and we have searched for years.

This is a Powhatan-Cherokee family that goes back to several ancestors.Name change was common.

Native Americans usually ran for their lives.

Property was held by a " James B Gordon" in South Dakota

And it is intertwined.

My grandfather, ROBERT LEE GORDON may be the illegitamate grandson of Robert E Lee.See memoirs of General John B Gordon..who were cousins.
