Miletus Asbury McCauley married Mildred Turner on December 29th 1845. They had 8 children. Mildred was born in 1826 in Albemarle County. I have her mother being Ann Buck, and her father being Garfield Turner. Mildred died on Feb. 3 1860.

Family legend says that Ann was disinherited when she married Garfield. (I have heard that Ann may have been Quaker and married outside of the church, I have not proved that).

Miletus Asbury McCauley was born in Albemarle County in 1822. He died November 1912. He died at Free Union, Albemarle County, Rivana District, his grave is at Laurel Hill Church.

Miletus's father was Peter McCauley (born 1777, married in Albemarle Co on Jan. 8, 1807). He was 78 by the 1850 census.

Miletus's mother was Agnes Garrison. She was born in 1785, and was 65 in the 1850 census.

(I read that Agnes's father was instrumental in bringing the Methodist church to Albemarle County). I have not proved that either.

Miletus's daughter Lillie Matheney was 96 in 1967 and supplied much of this information. She was the youngest child by Miletus's second marriage.
