Looking for a William KUPE that was a soldier in Rev. War, fought in the Battle of Brandywine, Sept. 11, 1777. Supposedly at the siege of Yorktown, VA where he was one of twelve guards with George Washington at Cornwallis signing of articles of surrender.
Can anyone tell me where I can check on who was in attendance of this signing?
Does anyone have knowledge of this surname in VA? This name evolved into COOP by 1831.
Thanks for any leads.
