Hello. I have a book, "Grayson County, A History in Words and Pictures". I didn't find the name Bishop but did find a York. Pg. 254, in recording info about Bridle Creek Methodist Church and the Independence Circuit, the following:"In 1886, the Independence Circuit became part of the Marion District. . .During this period an evangelistic drive was under way and the following local preachers were licensed to preach. . .and local preachers. . .Louis York as exhorters." Have you tried Smythe Co and Wythe Co. records? There were Yorks there and sometimes you find info about the wife's family which leads to info about who they married. Good luck, Linda
