I am seeking the JENNINGS family who lived in Grayson County VA in the 1820's who would have had a son named Henderson. (this may be his middle name). He was born abt. 1821-24, migrated to MO via NC abt.1839 when he was abt 18 years old.
There maybe a connection between his father and the Henderson and Jones families of Scott County/Grayson County VA.
Also seeking a Solomon JENNINGS, husband of Sarah, who d. 10 June 8154. Henderson's grandson was named Solomon.
John Jones Jennings was the son of Henderson, and his grandson was also named John Jones JENNINGS.
Other family names were William Anthony, Belinda Horace,(that is her middle name) Fred Horace, Mary Elizabeth, Kate (Catie) Richard Henderson Jennings, and Amelia.
All of the children were born in Neosho, Newton County MO.
Thier mother was Nancy Jane CREWS b. abt. 1824 in KY. Parents also unkown.
They only information we have on Henderson is that he was born in Grayson County. No information as to his parents .
He was rumored to have traveled with a cattle drive, possibly "The Bryan Party" with Edmund JENNINGs and Daniel BOONE>
Was listed as being a teacher, b. NC on the 1850 Newton County census.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
