Those early militia listings didn't generally generate a service record. Additionally, those militia service records don't mean that a person acutally fought in the Revolution. That part of the world was more loyal to the King than about any other part of Virginia. Men were listed on militia rosters because it was required, not because of sentiment, which at this late date is very difficult to determine from a militia record alone.
