Gary, I too am related to the Stampers and Cornett's of Grayson Co., VA. In fact several years ago I made a trip back to Grayson Co., and meet a Mr. James Stamper, who took us around Grayson Co. At the time I had no idea I had any Stamper blood. The Cornett's I have go back to gg grandmother who was Elizabeth Jane Cornett-Austin, dau of Alexander Cornett, and Jemmina Rudy-Cornett. Alexander was the son of William Cornett, then a James, and another James Cornett. The Stampers I have go from my 5th great grandmother, Frankie Stamper-Tolliver to a Jonathan Stamper, then his father Powell, and his father John and Elizabeth Stamper and his parents Philip Stamper of Crosthwaite, Eng. and wife Winifryde.
Sounds like we could be double cousins!
Good luck. Brad R Gale
