I am researching Hannah (Anne) Williams born in Grayson County in August 1764. She married a Martin UTTERBACK from Fauquier County, VA about 1788. Their first two children were born before 1793 in Culpeper County, Chester's Gap, VA and the rest of their children were born after 1793 in Hardin County, KY.

Some listing of Hannah on the web list her as being born in Grayson County, KY which did not have any settler until 1774. She could have been born 10 years before any other settler came into the area but this is unlikely. Looking back at the orginal documents her birth is just listed at Gray(son) County. Since her husband was from VA and her first children were born in VA, I believe she could be from Grayson, VA.

Could Hannah Williams be related to Sarah Williams you have listed? Do you have any other information on Williams in Grayson, VA. Please e-mail me at

Any help will be appreicated.
