In your posting, you have Richard Wright, born in Grayson Co. in 1739. Grayson County was then a wilderness and unsettled, so, he came from somewhere else (I don't know where), but this might be throwing you off the trail a bit.

The First settlers seem to have shown up ca. 1765-67.
