Go to msg #530, 21 Sept 2001, this site, and read the series of postings.

I don't know where you live, but if not close, then you can contact the Historical Society in Independence; they may be ale to give you the name of a researcher. Or contact the Library in Galax, and they may be able to give a name of researcher.

And the 1908 courthouse is still standing but no longer used as C.H. A judge sid it was TOO LARGE and ordered a new on built several years ago!!! I think it is being used as a museum now.
