The Amelia County, VA Stone family came on over to Halifax County by 1767 and married into the Farris family.
Joseph Farris had two daughters who married "Stone" and one who married THOMAS FLETCHER in 1790

Thomas Fletcher born 1762 died in 1838.

In the 1787 State Census for Gloucester County, there was one Thomas Fletcher, two Nathan Fletcher's, and one James Fletcher.

By 1800 at Halifax Virginia, a Thomas Fletcher and a Nathan Fletcher were present, and a Nathan Fletcher was still in Amelia.

Perhaps a family connection.
